M:sco Disco is a visual artist, record collector and sound enthusiast. M:sco has DJed at the Ace Hotel Brooklyn, The Museum of Modern Art, The Lot Radio, Nightmoves, Razor N Tape shop, The Mixtape shop, SecondHand Records, Soho House and has curated music for various events and fashion shows. He’s the co-founder of Head Hi, an independent organization in Fort Greene Brooklyn dedicated to design, architecture and art. Originally from Mexico City, M:sco has been fascinated with music and the communal experience of rhythms & sounds from a very young age while attending bailes and carnivals blasting Cumbia, Salsa with live MCs, and later discovering other genres like punk, rock, reggae, and electronic music at raves in the 1990s.
Since moving to New York City in 1998, after a short time in San Francisco where he learned to beat match on a sailboat, M:sco has shared his eclectic record collection of boogie, latin, jazz, funk, soul, dub, house, disco, rock, and electronic music with audiences and is constantly searching for music from around the world.
