Lobby Night with Mari Mac Dowell

  • 7:00 pm - 12:00 am | Friday March 21, 2025
  • The Lobby | Ace Hotel Brooklyn
DJ and record collector for over 15 years, Mari Mac Dowell, born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, now resides in Brooklyn, NY, where for almost seven years she has been expanding her collection of obscure Brazilian and African records and other eccentric noises. As a lifelong student of the tenets of House Music her record bag is always filled with a wide range of “unshazamable” sensual club bangers, sneaky grooves and passionate thumpers.
Her sets are always energetic with a lot of synthesizers and percussive grooves. Mari became a regular in the booth of a few underground clubs in the city such as Mood Ring, House of Yes, Jupiter Disco, Public Records, Nightmoves among others. Inveterate music researcher she is always looking for hidden gems to elevate you to other frequencies.
Mari’s drive to curate engaging sets ensure a memorable and dynamic experience for everyone on the dancefloor. Over the years, she has quickly become one of the key selectors of NYC’s queer underground electronic music scene.
