Nicole Wray, a Virginia native, began her music career at fifteen when she impressed Missy Elliot with her captivating voice and was signed on the spot. Initially directed by others, she later embraced her own voice and songwriting, evolving into Lady Wray. Her latest album, “Piece of Me,” released on Brooklyn’s Big Crown Records, embodies a blend of R&B and soul reminiscent of late 90s music. The album’s lead single, “Piece of Me,” gained traction in 2020 with its poignant exploration of relationships. Despite being pregnant during recording, Lady Wray’s powerful vocals shine through, showcasing her unwavering dedication to her craft. With each song, she aims to evoke genuine emotion and connection, aspiring to revive the essence of authentic music.
