Community Update: 09.23.2020
ACE HOTEL COMMUNITY STANDARDS
As a space imagined for everyone, we believe that all people should be treated fairly, with respect and without bias. Sometimes we need words to make these actions clear — to declare our values and ethics aloud so that we can uphold the highest standards of equity, inclusivity, safety, and kindness across all our spaces and relationships. Our new Community Standards affirm the ideals we expect from our guests and community partners.
These standards were created in partnership with our property teams, Atelier Ace and our DEI consultant. It’s designed as a living document, meant to evolve along with the needs of our community, with the expectation that we will uphold and reinforce these principles with purpose. Learn more about our Community Standards here.
RESTORATIVE JUSTICE PARTNERSHIPS
Ace is proud to announce that we are partnering with The Center for Restorative Approaches (CRA) in New Orlean to implement a restorative justice program within our workgroups. CRA helps people and organizations build problem-solving skills that result in better connections and a healthier community. We will work with CRA to engage more proactively with our team members — to assist in conflict resolutions and improved communication.
In the coming weeks and months, Ace will continue to partner with additional restorative justice organizations to implement this program across all properties.
The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee was created to foster an environment in which a diverse group of team leaders within the Ace family could come together to offer their insight on matters surrounding DEI at Ace Hotel Group. As we continue to reopen our hotels, we encourage any team member interested in joining the committee to please reach out to their HR Department for more information on how to participate.
Leading Inclusive Teams Training
So far, over 120 Atelier Ace team members have attended the Leading Inclusive Teams training. This training course is four hours of interactive instruction and activities that cover social identity, psychological safety for all groups, and how to best address and eliminate implicit and systemic biases. As we reopen additional properties, we will continue to implement this important training across all of our hotels.

TV on the Radio Talk Brooklyn

Greek Visions Finds Meaning in Incoherence
“It’s an incoherent archive of contemporary Greek culture,” says Greek Visions founder Takis Zontiros. What began as an Instagram account cataloguing movements and moments in Greece’s past and recent present — 1970s to 2010s — grew long, curious arms. Greek Visions resembles a virtual museum preserving the minute and monumental of the country’s cultural identity, its reach now spanning a popular Instagram account, regular merch drops and a Substack. Newly notched in the brand’s résumé — curator of the in-room vinyl at Ace Hotel & Swim Club Athens (hear a preview here) and collaborator on an apparel collection that revives the decadence of Greek discotheques.
