DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to announce the gallery exhibition by our latest Artist in Residence\, Satoko Imazu. “Echoes” will be on view May 1 through July 31. \nDuring her time with us\, Satoko chose the Kyoto Imperial Palace as the central theme of her work — a place deeply rooted in history\, yet very much a part of everyday life for Kyoto’s residents. She was drawn to how different it feels from the Imperial Palace and gardens in Tokyo\, where she usually lives. In Kyoto\, people cycle through the grounds as part of their daily commute\, run as part of their routine\, take walks\, rest and\, on weekends\, gather for baseball games or tennis practice. In some ways\, it felt reminiscent of Central Park to her. \nIncluding the changing scenes along the way during her daily visits to the grounds\, She photographed with a focus on “everyday life\,” a central theme in her ongoing work. \nReception Party: May 1\, 18:30–20:30 (in front of the Gallery)\nSlow Series Photo Workshop: May 2\, from 10:30 (meet in the Lobby) \nFree and open to all. \nSatoko Imazu\nAfter apprenticing under photographer Shingo Wakagi\, Satoko Imazu established her independent practice in 2004. She primarily works across magazines\, catalogs\, and advertising\, with a focus on travel and portrait photography.\nGuided by her ongoing theme of “the everyday\,” her work during this residency in Kyoto centers on the Kyoto Imperial Palace\, capturing the ways in which local residents inhabit and spend time in this shared space. \n  \n5月1日から7月31日まで今津 聡子さんのギャラリー展示が行われます。 \n今回の滞在制作では､京都に住む方々にとって歴史が深い場所で在りながら､日常の一部である『京都御所』をテーマとしました｡\nこのテーマを選んだ理由として､私が普段生活をしている東京にある皇居や御苑とは大きく異なり､御所を通勤通学のためのルートとして自転車で横切る人々､習慣のランニング､お散歩や休憩､週末には野球大会やテニスの練習､子どもたちが無邪気に遊ぶ姿､それがまるでNY のセントラルパークのようでいて､とても興味深い存在だと思ったからです｡\nここには厳かな｢御所｣の存在がある中で､京都の人々の毎日の営みを内在しているユニークでいて､唯一の場所なのではと｡\n毎日御所に通う中で現れる道中の景色も含めて、私のライフワークのテーマである”日常”に着目し撮影しました。 \nレセプションパーティー：5月1日 18:30 – 20:30 ギャラリー前にて\nSLOW SERIES フォトウォーキングワークショップ：5月2日 10:30- ロビー集合\n参加費用：無料\n※誰でもご参加いただけます。 \n\n\n\n\n  \n\n今津聡子 \n写真家・若木信吾に師事後、2004年に独立。主に雑誌やカタログ、広告などで旅や ポートレイト撮影を中心に活動。 \n『日常』をテーマに、今回の京都滞在では地元の 人々が思い思いに過ごす「京都御所」に着目した作品を制作。

Daisukeが流すラテン音楽を聴きながら、￥600の5種類のタコスをお楽しみください。 \nE.P Daisuke \nIn 1989\, EP Daisuke began his DJ career in Osaka alongside techno DJ Fumiya Tanaka.\nWhile Tanaka delved into techno music\, EP Daisuke leaned towards roots music.\nUnder the mentorship of DJ Kayano\, who organized “BLUES NIGHT\,” EP Daisuke honed his skills as a blues DJ. Alongside DJ Junia\, he co-hosted the event “KILLING FLOOR” at club noon.\nHe also co-founded the event “JUNKERS” with DJ James\, among many other roots music events centered around blues\, based in Osaka. Since 2015\, he has shifted his base to Kyoto\, gathering soul bar proprietors to organize the soul party “Kyoto Black Juice Conference.”\nCurrently\, he collaborates with DJ Baby China\, playing across all genres\, and continues to thrive in his career. \n1989年、テクノDJ田中フミヤ氏と共に大阪にてDJキャリアスタート。田中フミヤはテクノミュージックに傾倒していくがEP Daisukeはルーツミュージックに傾倒。\n「BLUES NIGHT」を主催していたDJ KAYANO氏の下でBlues DJとしてキャリアを積む。\nDJ JUNIA氏と共にclub noon にてイベント「KILLING FLOOR」を主催。DJ James氏とイベント「JUNKERS」を立ち上げる等、大阪を拠点にBluesを中心とする数々のルーツミュージックイベントでプレイ。\n2015年より活動拠点を京都に移し、ソウルバーの店主を集い、ソウルパーティー「京都黒汁会議」を主催。\n現在、DJ Baby China をパートナーとしてオールジャンルをプレイするスタイルで活躍中。

Recently\, he has been active as a DJ at venues like hotels and lounges\, as well as events such as sports tournaments\, weddings\, and banquets. \n2001年よりクラブDJとして活動を開始。独自の世界観と経験をもって、ブラックミュージックを軸にDJを通して伝えるそのセンスは本物で、選曲の幅も広く、彼のプレイを支持する熱狂的なファンも多い。昨今ではホテルやラウンジなどのDJをメインにスポーツの大会、結婚式や宴会など様々な現場にてプレイする。 \nDJ MAHIRO \nBorn in 1999 in Kyoto\, he grew up listening to 80’s and 90’s Black music\, influenced by his parents\, which led him to dive into DJing. \nWith a wide-ranging selection centered around Black music\, he transcends eras and borders\, moving not just bodies but hearts. Continuously absorbing diverse musical influences\, he stays true to his passion\, crafting a unique sonic world. \n1999年生まれ京都市出身、親の影響もあり幼少期から80’s～90’sのブラックミュージックを聴いて育ち、自身も音楽にのめり込んだのをきっかけにDJ活動を開始。\nブラックミュージックを中心に、新旧問わずワイドな選曲で年代や国境を越え、聴いた人の心までも踊らせる。\n音楽を通じて様々な感性を吸収し、自身の好きな音楽に真摯に向き合うことで独自の世界観を伝える。\n趣味はトレーニング。 \n
