a delicious gathering at the intersections of food, arts, and culture.

Tables of Contents is a home for significant, surprising, and delicious gatherings at the intersections of food, arts, and culture. Their monthly reading series uses food to catalyze connections and conversations between individuals via the vulnerability of the table, while highlighting and championing the diverse literary voices creating our contemporary canon.

July’s Tables of Contents reading at Ace Hotel Brooklyn is presented in partnership with The Center for Fiction, and will feature readings from Zain Khalid, Julia May Jonas, and Cecily Wong.

Chef Evan Hanczor will create bites paired with each author’s reading, and will facilitate a conversation among the authors that will dig into cooking, writing, and the creative process.

About the authors:

Zain Khalid’s writing has appeared in The New Yorker, n+1, The Believer, The Los Angeles Review of Books, McSweeney’s Quarterly Concern, and elsewhere. He has also written for television. His first novel, BROTHER ALIVE, is forthcoming from Grove Atlantic in July 2022.

Julia May Jonas is a writer, director, and the founder of theater company Nellie Tinder. (www.nellietinder.org) She teaches theater at Skidmore College and lives in Brooklyn with her family. Vladimir is her first novel.
