Meet Brittney Caranza aka Benny Jets– a talented DJ and musician from LA who brings an in-depth understanding of music and life to the dance floor. Tonight, Benny Jets brings along friend Tenosh to play along.

Brittney has carved space in the community as a self-taught, musical entertainer since her early teen years. Growing up, she was surrounded by a rich tapestry of cultures, sounds, and rhythms that have influenced her style and musical taste; owed marginally in part to her dad (Ruben “Valentino” Carranza – 80’s Teddy Boys crew), his brother, and their dad who also were once prominent DJs in LA as well as Jalisco, Mexico, where they originally immigrated from. Djing runs in her blood through multiple generations and because of her family and the music scenes she continues to help cultivate and grow in both Long Beach and Los Angeles, she plays well-steeped selection of music intuitively from the heart.

As a sound selector, she specializes in music derived from her Mexican roots but she also continues to dig through all genres and time periods, especially if it’s deep-cut international Soul, Psych, Garage, Disco, Boogie, Reggae, and Funk from the 60’s and 70’s. It’s also worth noting Neo-soul, 90’s/00’s R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Electronic Beats will always hold a special place in her heart. Her taste is truly limitless- good Music is just Good music no matter what genre. You can find Ms. Brittney at any notable venue or club in the LA county on a weekly basis DJing or playing live with her band Healing Gems- a Psychedelic/Tropical/Exotica band who are also based in LA as well.
